DS3231M I²C Real-Time Clock

Analog Devices DS3231M is the industry's first temperature-compensated Real-Time Clock with an internal MEMS resonator. This Analog Devices low-cost, extremely accurate I²C RTC incorporates a battery input and maintains accurate timekeeping when the main power to the device is interrupted. The DS3231M provides timekeeping accuracy of ±5ppm (±0.432 second/day) from -40ºC to 85ºC and complete calendar functionality, including seconds, minutes, hours, days, dates, months, and years with leap-year compensation. The DS3231M includes two time-of-day alarms and features 1Hz and 32.768kHz outputs. This Maxim Integrated RTC is optimized for power meters and industrial applications and reduces crystal mechanical failure susceptibility.

Real Time Clocks (RTC)

Analog Devices Inc. Real-time Clocks (RTCs) are offered in a wide range of low-power, highly accurate, small packages, and MEMs-based ICs. RTC ICs measure time, even when the power of the main device is off, so an auxiliary battery or supercapacitor are required. Power consumption is a key factor in most RTC designs, but accuracy and small package size are also important. The latest RTC ICs reduce package pin count by supporting a serial interface.
