Indoor LED Lighting Circuit Protection

Littelfuse Indoor LED Lighting Circuit Protection ensures a long operating life, increased energy efficiency, and safety. LEDs can be damaged by voltage or current surges, and by extreme temperatures. Littelfuse circuit protection technology protects LED assemblies from potential damage. Important circuit protection technologies include metal-oxide varistors (MOVs), transient voltage suppression (TVS) diodes, and fuses.

In-Vehicle Communication Solutions

Littelfuse provides a wide portfolio of fuses, diode arrays, and suppressors suitable for in-vehicle communication applications. The automotive environments are divided into domain architecture and zonal architecture. The domain architecture controls and divides by function, and computation can be performed locally. Zonal architecture environments require a software-based approach, and a central computer is linked to sensors and devices through zonal gateways.

ECU Solutions

Littelfuse ECU Solutions offer a range of protection for the many circuits found in the Electronic Control Units (ECU) of modern automobiles. These ECUs control functions like GPS connectivity, transmission and engine control, and door lock. PolySwitch Surface Mount Resettable PTCs

Littelfuse PolySwitch Surface-Mount (SMD) Resettable PTCs provide overcurrent protection for applications where space is at a premium, and resettable protection is desired. The components are reliable and capable of protecting computer and consumer electronics against temporary overcurrent faults. Package size varies from 0402 to 3425, while the current hold ranges from 50mA to 7.0A. The Littelfuse PolySwitch SMD product family is qualified to strict automotive standards (following the AECQ200 specification). As a result, these PTCs are suitable for protecting Electronic Control Units (ECUs) against damage from faults that would otherwise require costly, complete module replacement.

Headlamp Lighting Solutions

Littelfuse Headlamp Lighting Solutions are a family of SMD fuses, TVS diodes and arrays, MLVs, and Schottky diodes that protect against threats to modern automotive headlight systems. Modern automotive headlamp LED systems feature the ability to self-level and swivel as well as shutter high and low beams. Modern vehicles have features like automatic dimming, external light sensing, and user-programmable settings, which can all become compromised by ESD, load dump, surges, overcurrents, and more. Littelfuse offers a wide range of solutions to guard against these modern threats, including resettable PPTCs, MLVs, and diode arrays.

Automotive SMD Resettable Fuses

Littelfuse PolySwitch® Family of Automotive SMD Resettable PPTCs are designed to support the miniaturization trend in automotive electronics. These devices meet performance specifications for resistance, time-to-trip, and hold current at three temperatures (-40°C, 25°C, and max T). These parts are AEC-Q200 qualified, RoHS compliant, ELV compliant, lead free, and halogen free as well as ISO/TS16949 certified. ​Littelfuse automotive PPTCs provide current ratings from 0.05A to 3.0A and voltage ratings from 5VDC to 60VDC. These devices provide overcurrent and overtemperature protection for Electronic Control Units (ECUs), I/O ports and traces, telematics and infotainment systems, and motor and motor control circuits. Littelfuse Automotive SMD Resettable PPTCs are compatible with high-volume SMD assembly processes.

ECall Solutions

Littelfuse ECall Solutions help preserve an automobile's ability to call the nearest emergency center after a crash. A range of Littelfuse TVS diodes and diode arrays, MLVs, MOVs, fuses, and more defend against the overcurrents, ESD, load dump, and surges that threaten these critical safety-based functionalities.

Engine Cooling System Solutions

Littelfuse Engine Cooling System Solutions offer protection against threats to the ability of an engine to cool using the right fluids. Threats to these cooling systems include overheating, load dumps, surges, and ESDs. Littelfuse solutions to these threats include Schottky and TVS diodes, diode arrays, MLVS, SMD PPTCs, and MOVs.

PolySwitch Resettable Devices

Littelfuse PolySwitch and POLY-FUSE Devices are Polymeric Positive Temperature Coefficient (PPTC) devices that offer a resettable overcurrent protection alternative, reducing warranty, service, and repair costs. PTCs increase resistance as temperature increases due to increased flow. The components are designed to limit unsafe currents while allowing constant safe current levels, resistance will "reset" automatically when the fault is removed, and temperature returns to safe levels. The ability of the PTCs to reset themselves after exposure to a fault current makes them ideal within circuits that are not easily accessible. PTCs are typically used as circuit protection in applications where sensitive components are at constant risk of damage from overcurrent conditions. The components are also ideal for situations where frequent overcurrent conditions occur or constant uptime is required. Littelfuse Resettable PTCs (PPTCs) are typically used in consumer electronics, power line, telecom, I/O port, process control and medical equipment protection applications.

Infotainment & Navigation Solutions

Littelfuse Infotainment and Navigation Solutions protect against ESD, surges, and overcurrents that threaten the advanced electronic ecosystems in vehicles. These ecosystems integrate technologies like Wi-Fi®, BLUETOOTH®, USB data/charging inputs, AUX inputs, telematics, navigation, and more into a graphical user interface on the dashboard. ESD, surge, and overcurrents threaten these systems' ability to share real-time data (speed, direction, location, etc.) with other vehicles as well as traffic lights and smart roads.
